Rory Pfund, PhD
Clinical Psychology
Dr. Pfund is a Clinical Psychologist HSP and Research Assistant Professor of Psychology at The University of Memphis. He interned at the University of Mississippi Medical School and completed a fellowship at the Center on Alcohol, Substance use, and Addictions – a research center affiliated with the University of New Mexico. Dr. Pfund serves as the Director of The Gambling Clinic® in Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Pfund received his PhD in clinical psychology from The University of Memphis in 2020, and he has published over 50 peer reviewed articles. His research has focused on evaluating how well psychological treatments reduce gambling problems and promote psychological functioning, and he has received research funding from the International Center of Responsible Gambling and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism. Dr. Pfund also serves on the editorial boards of leading journals, including Addiction, Journal of Gambling Studies, and Psychology of Addictive Behaviors. In 2024, Dr. Pfund was awarded the Scientific Achievement Award from the International Center for Responsible Gambling.
