The Gambling Clinic®

The Gambling Clinic

Founded in 1999, The Gambling Clinic is the longest continually operating clinic in the U.S. that is exclusively focused on gambling addiction. With a rich history of serving over 1,500 individuals struggling with gambling problems, we are dedicated to providing effective and compassionate care for all our clients.

Our success is based on our evidence-based methods, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), to address gambling triggers and habits. This approach has been proven to help clients modify their behavior and develop long-term strategies for success.

Over the years, we have continually refined the help we offer and the evaluations we complete to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of the work we do.

Our evidence supports individualized treatment that helps each person enhance their skills and gain better control over their gambling.

The treatment has five phases, and the path through those phases depends on the person’s needs, typically taking 8 to 10 sessions.

We are here to help you develop the skills you need to meet your treatment goals. You are in the driver’s seat, and we are experts in helping you drive safely.

Our Approach: Gambling Addiction Help in Tennessee

We are continuing our longstanding relationship with the TN Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services to build:

  • An online educational resource center that offers Tennesseans, including those who may be hesitant about therapy, a range of tools to support gambling addiction recovery. These resources include self-assessment quizzes, informative guides, and practical resources to help individuals make positive changes in their own gambling addiction recovery or to support a loved one.

  • A web-based portal for those concerned about another’s gambling problems.

  • Access to information for service providers, including an online referral system.

  • Regional clinics that offer telehealth and/or in-person treatment with an intentional and concerted effort to support historically underserved communities.

Does Gambling Addiction Treatment Work?

We have become confident that a person who can complete the five phases will realize a significant reduction in gambling problems, a decrease in gambling frequency, and an improvement in general well-being.

Our research supports that over 87% of those who seek help for gambling addiction will benefit from treatment.

Dedicated individuals who partner with us for change will see success in their treatment.
